I am a fashion forward female who after getting married 4 years ago realised that South Africa has too little good quality bridal accessory stores to choose from. Especially in the Tiara and jewellery category. That is when I started my company Bridal Etc. I started making Swarovski Crystal Tiaras on a small scale and now have a great website to offer South African Brides more choice when its comes to accessorizing for their big day.

Tiara or not to Tiara?

Tiaras have been for centuries reserved for royalty and were designed to showcase priceless jewels as gleaming status symbols. Artists today create marvellous tiaras with exquisite materials and innovative designs, many of which are worn at weddings, later serving as precious mementoes of special days, future heirlooms, or pieces that can be converted into a necklace and so continue to give pleasure to the wearer.

Whether you choose to wear one on your big day however, remains a personal choice. Most brides have often dreamed of the fairy tale wedding with themselves being the princess. And lets face it, what is a princess without a crown? However, in the modern age that we live in, more and more brides are opting for less traditional hair accessories, whether it be hair vines, hair combs, hairpins or simply nothing at all. Either way, the choice to wear a tiara or any other hair accessory is simply deciding what you are comfortable on the day. The most beautiful brides in my opinion are usually the ones that are confident and happy with what they are wearing. As simple as that!
